Brinkley Davies

Surfer, marine biologist, free diver and above all, an ocean lover: Brinkley has all it takes to be part of the ROXY family. The waves of South Australia - where she grew up - witnessed her debut as a surfer. The young girl then quickly started to compete for various local and national titles. Brinkley later devoted herself to marine biology, in which she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2014.

As if it weren’t enough, the “waterwoman” - as she defines herself - became the CEO of an environmental and wildlife charity two years later, in 2016. One can only be inspired by women like Brinkley who put their sporting abilities, brain and style at the service of greater goals, such as the protection of oceans and wild species.

Q&A WITH BRINKLEY:

Favorite place to travel?
A hard one, I love my backyard here at home in Australia, and have been able to explore it more than ever the last year. Overseas, South Africa, Mentawais, and Tonga are some favourites.

Best moment in your career?
Jumping on the tow rope at a local wave at home a few years back, after a swell hit and getting the biggest barrel, and beat down of my life.

Favorite things to do when you’re not riding?
Freediving, exploring the underwater world and hanging out with my dogs.

Fashion essentials?
Love a good oversize boat shirt/ jacket over black bikinis, my go-to most days + a big hat.

Favorite moment with ROXY?
Freediving with a tiger shark, at home here on the Ningaloo Reef
